We have the C-Section scheduled for May 2nd and I cannot believe our daughter will be here that soon. Yikes!
A few weeks after we decided to name her Lily, I got cold feet and still found other names Steve and I loved just as much. So we came up with a favorites list and decided to name her after birth, so we can see which name fits her best. Lily Anne is still on the list, but so are two other names. I feel silly for announcing the name and then changing my mind...
The boys are doing really well. Kyle is learning tons at home. It's amazing to witness him grasping concepts and see the light bulb go off in his head when he understands something new. As much as I love having him home, there is no way I want to attempt homeschooling after baby arrives. It's hard enough to homeschool with a toddler running around who needs my attention and to be entertained, I do not think it will benefit anyone to try it with two kids under the age of 2. Especially since Kyle has a horrible time concentrating some days. Like with any kind of schooling we have our bad and good days.
For second grade he will attend his old school and we'll take things year by year from now on. We are open to homeschooling in the future IF he is not flourishing in public school and once Zachary and baby girl are preschool age as well. Homeschooling overall has been a positive experience and I'm really happy to have Kyle at home this school year. Honestly I am going to be really sad when he returns to his old school, but I am hopeful it will be a more positive experience for him than what he had during his Kindergarten year.
Kyle is still loving his weekly gymnastics class and cannot decide what his next sport will be. He wants to try everything! I love that about him. He also has made friends in our neighborhood so he has been enjoying riding his bike or scooter with the five little boys his age who all live on our street. And to think that some people still believe homeschooled kids never get to play with other kids! Between gymnastics, his neighborhood friends and church friends he's a pretty busy kid. Some days I think we need a break from all of this socialization!
Little Zach is getting so big! In December he was 26 lbs, so I bet he is around 28 lbs now. He LOVES music, especially playing with his little drum and keyboard. He is also a very good dancer! Zach enjoys playing outside and has started to randomly come up to Steve, Kyle and myself, and give hugs and kisses. Whenever he gives hugs he will say "mmmmmm". He is very affectionate yet incredibly rough at times. He plays hard and too roughly so we're working on being gentle. So far he can say: hello, bye-bye, kitty, sippy, that, mama, dada, brabra (brother),papa, ama (grandma), more, all done, up and down. I cannot believe how much our Zach-Zach has stolen our hearts.
